Baring Communications Equity (Emerging Europe) Limited (“BCEE” or “The Fund”) is the oldest and leading Telcom Media and Technology focused fund in the Emerging Europe region. BCEE is uniquely positioned to help bring capital into ventures with gifted entrepreneurs and managers, and/or strategic partners. BCEE was established in December 1997 to invest in unlisted technology, media and telecommunication companies throughout Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS on behalf of its investors, including: Alpha (5E Holdings), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), ING Barings, Toronto Dominion Bank, Nissho Iwai (IXC), JP Morgan (Chase Manhattan Bank), HarbourVest, BoA Merrill Lynch, Lexington Partners and several other private and institutional investors. This investor group represents some of the largest and most knowledgeable lenders, advisers and investors in media and communications globally. Together, they have participated in transactions worth in excess of $100 billion. BCEE’s access to capital means that it is able to structure and invest in transactions which may be significantly greater than the total size of the Fund. We look at both early stage investments and buyouts, from €1 - €100 million of equity.
